A little about me

It’s all about the story. Narrative is what people remember, there is a strong relation to a memory because of the emotions tied to it.

I have grown fond of this concept through growing up as a young kid who watched countless films on Laser Discs or Video Compact Discs (VCDs), always rewatching favourite scenes and trying to break it down as to how it was shot. A few years passed, and a teacher and I collaborated on making a few cooperate videos for our secondary school. It got me interested to apply for a film course in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, where I studied Advanced Audio and picked up voice acting after being inspired by the late but great Robin Williams.

After graduating from Polytechnic and National Service, I got into the School of Art, Design and Media in Nanyang Technological University. This is where I started to show interest in cinematography because of the professor that was teaching there. I binged video essays and podcasts like the one from Team Deakins, read magazines from American Society of Cinematographers, film theory books or whatever I could find about studying the visual language.

The idea of being able to collaborate or work on a media project brings me back to my childhood, where it started with the simplest idea of wanting to tell a story.
